The People’s Bank is Sri Lanka’s second largest commercial bank. As one of the four Domestically Systemically Important Banks (D-SIB) in Sri Lanka, it offers Retail banking, Enterprise banking, Corporate banking, Treasury, and International Operations. Its Retail banking involves deposit products and advances, amongst others, while its Enterprise banking deals with deposit products, SME loans, Development and Microfinance Loans, and Trade Finance. Corporate banking involves Trade Finance and other general deposit and advances services. The Treasury and Investment banking segment offers Money Market Activities, Trading in Government Securities, Repurchasing Transactions on Government Securities, Foreign Exchange Transactions, Derivative Transactions, Investment Banking, Debt Structuring, Advisory Services and Trustee Services. Its International Operations segment involves Trade Services, Foreign Currency Remittances and Deposits, and International payment and settlement services. Founded in 1961, it has its head offices in Colombo.
