Sri Lanka Cashew Corporation

The Sri Lankan Cashew Corporation (SLCC) is involved in the cultivation, processing and marketing of cashew and cashew products. Its operations are divided into five divisions: Marketing, Extension, Plantation, and Research. Its Marketing division involves running cashew processing centers to produce quality cashew kernels and supply value added products to local and international markets, selling cashew and allied products through SLCC sales outlets, providing cashew in bulk to hotels, local confectionary industries and airlines, as well as exporting processed cashew. Its Extension Division aims to help small scale farmers in rural areas through subsidy schemes, training and advising. The Plantation Division runs the plantations and commercial nurseries of the corporation, while the Research Division looks for ways to improve agro techniques and plant protection methods. It also worked with the Faculty of Agriculture and Plantation Management of the Wayamba University of Sri Lanka to develop improved varieties and quality planting materials. The SLCC was established in 1973 and is headquartered in Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte, Sri Lanka
