The Sri Lanka State Plantations Corp is in the business of growing, manufacturing and trading tea and rubber, managing agricultural and estate lands it has. Its operations are broken into five. First, the cultivation of crops, including tea, rubber, cardamom, cinnamon, coffee and ginger. Its Harvesting and Disposal of Timber operation involves harvesting and/or disposing matured trees. It is also involved in promoting tourism through the four holiday bungalows it owns, furnished to house local and foreign tourists. Its fourth segment is the selling of its ‘Sanstha Tea’, which is produced in the Vocational Training Centres of the SLSPC Plantations. Its fifth segment involves other activities it conducts such as leasing. With its headquarters in Colombo, the SLSPC was founded in 1958.
