Sri Lanka’s cabinet of ministers has given approval for state-run firms to import up to 231,000 metric tonnes of rice for the 2022/2023 main cultivation season, cabinet spokesman, Minister Bandula Gunewardene said.
Colombo Commercial Fertilizer and Lanka Fertilizer will import the fertilizer, he said.
The two firms were given approval to import up to 150,000 metric tonnes of urea, 45,000 metric tonnes muriate of potash and 36,000 metric tonnes triple super phosphate, he said.
