Sri Lanka’s CEB to make tariff cut proposal next week

The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) will submit a proposal to the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) to reduce electricity tariffs next week, Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera said.

“The CEB will submit the electricity tariff reduction proposal to PUCSL next week,” Wijesekera said on X (twitter) on Wednesday (3).

Last month he said there would be a power tariff revision mid-January that will see electricity rates reduced to reflect the increased use of hydropower generation made possible by unusually high rainfall.
