Sri Lanka’s state-run CPC records significant reduction in fuel sales: minister

Sri Lanka has recorded a significant reduction in fuel demand over the year from January 2022 to January 2023, with consumption of auto diesel and petrol dropping as much as 50 and 30 percent respectively, Power & Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekara said.

The minister tweeted Friday March 10 that retail and industrial fuel sales records of the state-run Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) show a reduction of about 50 percent in auto diesel, about 30 pertol in petrol, and about 70 percent in kerosene use.
